England’s Waterways is one of Visit England’s Discover England projects. The project has three core aims - product development, market development and economic impact using the waterways as the hook to increase the volume and value of visits.
The project has offered the opportunity to grow and develop new products across the region, strengthening and expanding its visitor offer and accessibility.
The West Midland Growth Company, with invaluable contribution, leads this project in partnership with destinations and organisations from across the region.
Shakespeare’s England is the official destination management organisation for Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Kenilworth, Royal Leamington Spa and the surrounding towns and villages.
Worcester City Council are the local council responsible for encouraging and increasing tourism to the area.
Telford and Wrekin Council are the local council responsible for encouraging and increasing tourism to the area.
Canal River Trust not only look after our waterways, but promoting them widely to the eight million plus people who have waterways on their doorstep so that many more people benefit from our free, accessible and local source of wellbeing.
Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council are the local councils working in partnership to develop and increase tourism to the area.
VisitBritain/VisitEngland plays a unique role in building England’s tourism product, raising Britain’s profile worldwide, increasing the volume and value of tourism exports and developing England and Britain’s visitor economy.
